✦ Sublative Skin Resurfacing Madison, WI
Smoother Skin, Refined Texture.
Sublative is Candela’s fractional radiofrequency resurfacing treatment. It renews the upper layers of your skin to refine texture, pores, fine lines and sun damage, performed under the care of Dr. Emilia Ruiz, MD.
What Is Sublative Resurfacing?
Sublative delivers radiofrequency energy through a tip of tiny pins, creating microscopic treatment zones in the upper layers of the skin. As your skin heals those zones, it builds new collagen and renews the surface, so it looks smoother, more refined and more even.
It’s a great treatment on its own, and it pairs well with Matrix Pro RF microneedling, which works deeper to tighten. Many clients combine the two in one visit as our Advanced Skin Resurfacing treatment.
Is Sublative Right for You?
Sublative may be a good fit if you want to improve:
- Rough or uneven skin texture
- Enlarged pores
- Fine lines
- Early sun damage
It may not be recommended if you:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Have an active skin infection, cold sore or open wound in the treatment area
- Have a pacemaker or other implanted electronic device
- Have taken isotretinoin (Accutane) in the past 6 months
Dr. Ruiz will review your health history at your consultation.

FAQs
How much does Sublative cost?
Your consultation is free. Sublative starts at $550 per session. Many clients pair it with Matrix Pro in the same visit, and we offer package savings on a series. We’ll go over exact pricing at your consultation.
Is Sublative the same as microneedling?
No. Sublative works on the upper layers of the skin to renew texture, while Matrix Pro RF microneedling works deeper to tighten. They complement each other, which is why many clients combine them.
How many sessions will I need?
Most clients plan about 3 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Dr. Ruiz will recommend a number based on your skin and goals.
Is there downtime?
Redness usually fades within a few days. Gentle skincare and daily broad-spectrum sunscreen help your skin heal and protect your results.
Does it hurt?
We apply topical numbing before your treatment to keep you comfortable, and a soothing mask afterward.
When will I see results?
Many clients notice smoother texture within a few weeks, and results continue to improve over 2–3 months as new collagen forms.
